Alton Miller's New Release & Sale!

Growing up in the 1970s, Miller soaked up the musical environment surrounding him in the Motor City, taking a particular interest in the sounds of Motown, Philadelphia, Parliament-Funkadelic, and Santana. It was during the early '80s once the "dance music crazed" Alton became friends with a young Derrick May that he decided to start spinning records, citing Chicago DJs such as Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles as prime influences. By the latter part of the same decade, Miller joined forces with George Baker and Chez Damier to start the Music Institute, a short-lived but legendary Detroit club that has since become near-mythical, thanks to the pioneering techno efforts of figures such as May. Following the demise of The Music Institute, Miller took an interest in Conga drumming in addition to DJing, which led to a period between 1989 and 1991 where he toured the world with his music. He then joined forces once again with May, first as an employee of the artist 9;s Transmat Records label, then as Aphrodisiac, the title under which he would begin releasing his music. By the mid to late '90s, he had increased his presence in the Detroit area through a number of DJ performances and a stream of stunning twelves. His debut album for Distance has been highly acclaimed as all things house. Alton Miller is picking up from where he left off in 2019 and rolling in 2020 on mission to make this year one of his most prolific ever. 2015 saw him re-introduce his label Innermuse Recordings with his own signature sound on Whereabouts Known.

Our website is very user-friendly with a large searchable database full of descriptions, cover and label artwork, sound samples, track listings, and reviews. Our website is updated several times a week, with new releases posted every Friday night. If an item is out of stock but might be restocked in the future, it will appear as “Out Of Stock”. Items that show as “Buy Now” were in stock at the time of the last update, though they might have sold out by the time of your order. Items which will not be restocked because they are out of print or no longer available will show as “Out Of Print/Not Available”.

Shipping Times & Prices
Just $5 Shipping For Any Sized Order Shipped In The US Via USPS Media Mail All orders normally ship the following business day. Orders placed over the weekend ship out on Tuesday. International orders will ship by the end of the week they were placed (with orders placed on Friday shipping by the end of the following week).
Any sized order shipping in the US ships via US Postal Service Media Mail for just $5.00. One item or ten (or more) the price is the same, just $5. This only applies to records and CDs, non-music items like t-shirts or merchandise cannot ship via Media Mail. The mail order department will let you know the shipping on those orders.
Other services like USPS Priority Mail, UPS or FEDEX are also available by request at the shipper’s published rates. Contact the mail order department for details and a quote.

Under normal circumstances everything sold by Groove Distribution is non-returnable. All records, compact discs, magazines, merchandise, etc. whether domestic or imported are sold on a one way, firm sale, non-returnable basis.
